Customizing This Report

The Dictionary | Help Text | All | With report uses a set of specific filters to refine and target the profiling results displayed. These filters are critical in isolating the most relevant data fields across different Salesforce objects such as Account, Case, and Lead. For example, you can change the Profiling Field Results records based on their Created Date field.

Editing Filter Criteria

You can change the filters by clicking the Filter icon in the report. The opened menu shows which filters are locked that come with each report. You can change these unlocked filters according to your needs and can also add additional filters by clicking the Edit button.

Here’s an overview of the filters applied to this report by default:

  • Show Me: Displays all profiling field results, ensuring comprehensive coverage of the data fields across Salesforce objects.

  • Created Date (Fields): Set to "All Time" to include all historical profiling data, providing a complete view of help text usage.

  • Is Latest Summary: Filters for the latest profiling summary, ensuring the most recent field data is displayed.

  • Record Type: Set to "Profiling Field," limiting the results to only fields that have undergone profiling.

  • Profiling Definition Category: The filter is set to "Baseline," ensuring that only baseline profiled fields are displayed, which typically represent default field configurations.

  • Profiling Definition Record Type: Set to "CRM," narrowing the scope to fields relevant to Customer Relationship Management objects.

  • Is System Field: The filter excludes system fields by setting it to "False," ensuring the report focuses on custom or user-defined fields.

  • Has Help Text: This critical filter is set to "True," displaying only those fields where help text has been defined, which is the focus of this analysis.

Adding Fields to the Report

This section guides how to customize the Dictionary | Help Text | All | With report by editing and adding fields, enhancing the report’s relevance and detail for specific organizational requirements.

  1. Open the Dictionary | Help Text | All | With report in your Salesforce environment and click the Edit button.

  1. Select Fields on the left to open the list of all fields available on the object.

  1. Use the Search all fields… option at the top of the Select Fields on the left to open the list of all fields available on the object panel to find specific fields you want to include in the report.

  1. Double-click fields to add them to the list of columns appearing in the report, and drag and drop fields within the Columns list to change their order. You can also drag and drop fields from the list of fields to the Columns list.

Once you have finished editing and adding fields:

  1. Click the Save button to preserve your changes.

  2. To update the report contents based on any changes you made, click Run. This will generate the report based on the current set of filters and fields you’ve configured.
