Customizing This Report
The Profiling Segments | Fields and Values report uses a set of specific filters to refine and target the profiling results displayed. These filters are critical in isolating the most relevant data fields across different Salesforce objects such as Account, Case, and Lead. For example, you can change the Profiling Value records based on their Created Date field.
Editing Filter Criteria
You can change the filters by clicking the Filter icon in the report. The opened menu shows which filters are locked that come with each report. You can change these unlocked filters according to your needs and can also add additional filters by clicking the Edit button.
Here’s an overview of the filters applied to this report by default:
Show Me: Displays all profiling value results, ensuring a comprehensive view of segmented field values across Salesforce objects.
Created Date (Values): Set to "All Time," meaning value results from any time period are included in the analysis.
Is Latest Summary: Set to "True," ensuring only the most recent profiling summaries are included, maintaining up-to-date data.
Record Type: Limited to "Profiling Field," ensuring the report focuses on fields specifically marked for profiling analysis.
Profiling Definition Category: Set to "Baseline," restricting the report to results categorized under the baseline profiling definition, often representing standard analysis.
Profiling Definition Record Type: Set to "CRM," filtering results to include only those relevant to CRM-related profiling definitions.
Is Field Empty (Primary): Set to "False," ensuring only fields that contain data are included in the report.
Is Formula Field: Set to "False," excluding formula fields from the analysis, ensuring only direct data values are considered.
Has Empty Value: Set to "False," ensuring only field values that contain data are included in the report.
Distinct Values (Primary): Filters for fields where the number of distinct values is greater than 1, ensuring that only fields with multiple values are considered.
Distinct Values (Primary) Range: Filters for fields where distinct values are fewer than 100, limiting the analysis to fields with a manageable range of values.
Segment Score: Set to "greater or equal to 50," ensuring only significant profiling segments are included in the report.
Is System Field: Set to "False," ensuring system-generated fields are excluded, focusing on user-defined or standard business fields.
Data Type (Segment): Set to "Value Segment," filtering results to include only value-based segments within profiling definitions.
Value Type (Segment): Set to "Value Segment," reinforcing the focus on segmenting data based on field values rather than metadata attributes.
Adding Fields to the Report
This section guides how to customize the Profiling Segments | Fields and Values report by editing and adding fields, enhancing the report’s relevance and detail for specific organizational requirements.
Open the Profiling Segments | Fields and Values report in your Salesforce environment and click the Edit button.
Select Fields on the left to open the list of all fields available on the object.
Use the Search all fields… option at the top of the Select Fields on the left to open the list of all fields available on the object panel to find specific fields you want to include in the report.
Double-click fields to add them to the list of columns appearing in the report, and drag and drop fields within the Columns list to change their order. You can also drag and drop fields from the list of fields to the Columns list.
Once you have finished editing and adding fields:
Click the Save button to preserve your changes.
To update the report contents based on any changes you made, click Run. This will generate the report based on the current set of filters and fields you’ve configured.
