Configuration and Statistics Dashboard

Configuration and Statistics Dashboard

The Configuration and Statistics Dashboard brings together key information CRM Admins, data stewards, and implementors may require to understand the overall configuration of CRM objects. If you are new to a Salesforce CRM org or want to save time looking up the various schema definitions and data quality rules, this interface will save you time and effort.

Locating the Dashboard

From the App Launcher, search for and select Data Quality Statistics.

The Data Quality Configurations and Statistics Dashboard will appear, where you can search for and select Salesforce objects.

Navigating the Dashboard

After searching for and selecting a Salesforce object from the Search for a Salesforce Object field, the dashboard will display details about the object and fields, including a summary immediately below the search field, which contains an overview of your description (or lack thereof), number of custom fields, records, and Salesforce data quality rules that are configured in your object.

Users without comprehensive profiling permissions enabled will see the notification, "We were unable to profile all details for this Salesforce Object." We don't need comprehensive profiling enabled for this demonstration, but our documentation covers what permissions are required for standard and comprehensive profiling.

If the Salesforce object was previously profiled, you can view its last profiling summary by selecting the most recent profiling date from the summary in the upper-left area of the screen.

You can also quickly view Record Age to the right of the summary section. Given how rapidly data can grow and older records tend to be the most stale, understanding your record volumes can guide your data quality assessment or archiving strategy.

Beneath the summary and Record Age sections, you can find three tabs that provide information on the object's tabs, relevant validation rules, and duplicate rules.

Within the Fields tab, you can find a list of the object's fields and their details, such as field name, field type, data type, etc.

It’s good practice to assess your historical data even when new validation rules are created (and continuously) since bulk processes often disable validation rules for upsert operations.

Lastly, you can see the matching and duplicate management rules configured for your object. If you identify additional fields that could be used for matching or notice fields scarcely used are part of matching, you can always modify these.
